Change is scary right? Yes, it is scary. Having a fear about changes that happens in your life is normal. I have that fear too. But I realized that change is something that is inherent in life. I think having expectation that nothing changes in your life is quite naive. Something will change in your life. For good or for bad. The question is how you will deal with it. There is something...

Sunday night blog pt.1
Lately, I’ve done some rethinking about how I see fandom. I used to think that being fanboys and fangirls are kinda useless. “Why would you devote some precious time span of your life to people who you don’t know well?”, I thought then. But I’ve changed my mind. Being a fan of someone or some people is not always that useless. Yes, most of the fanboys are fangirls can...

Bus ride blog pt.1
There’s a lot going on in my mind in the past weeks. If you’re worried, then I can assure you that it’s nothing big. It’s just a risk of being an introvert and a person who didn’t talk much. You tend to be a philoshoper when you spend most of your time struggling with your own mind. But yesterday, this song from Kina Grannis came to my mind. It’s called...

Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything in this blog. Somehow, I can see a pattern on when I write something here. I usually write a post in here when I need to whine about something. Well, here comes… This is a story about how bad my weekend/week has been. I’ve been having lots of pain on the right side of my head. The cause of this despicable pain machine...

Sometimes it really frustrates me that the news is filled with stories that add nothing in understanding the issues. While people focus on a president who ignorantly accuses that 9/11 is an inside job or a confused man who want to burn holy books, I am happy that there is still a sane discussion in Comedy Central (!). This is Jon Stewart who discusses about Middle East Conflict with King Abdullah...

Stanley Kubrick's answer to the question of...
Playboy: If life is so purposeless, do you feel that it's worth living?
Kubrick: Yes, for those of us who manage somehow to cope with our mortality. The very meaninglessness of life forces man to create his own meaning. Children, of course, begin life with an untarnished sense of wonder, a capacity to experience total joy at something as simple as the greenness of a leaf; but as they grow older, the awareness of death and decay begins to impinge on their consciousness and subtly erode their joie de vivre, their idealism - and their assumption of immortality. As a child matures, he sees death and pain everywhere about him, and begins to lose faith in the ultimate goodness of man. But if he's reasonably strong - and lucky - he can emerge from this twilight of the soul into a rebirth to life's élan. Both because of and in spite of his awareness of the meaninglessness of life, he can forge a fresh sense of purpose and affirmation. He may not recapture the same pure sense of wonder he was born with, but he can shape something far more enduring and sustaining. The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death - however mutable man may be able to make them - our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.

As someone who has grown up with Disney, there’s this urge to watch everything that has Disney mark on it. I guess I’ve always appreciated Disney’s magic (but not the commercialism). I think that this urge was the one that pushed me to watch movie like “Camp Rock 2: Final Jam”. Even though I know that I will be disappointed about the movie, I still have to watch it.  ...

Before it all begins...
In a few hours, the final of World Cup 2010 begins. After 90 minutes of football party (or maybe 30 minutes more), the party ends. Then we will all leave South Africa behind. No constant news from South Africa. No constant images from South African football pitches. Just want to say that I hope the promise of better world in Africa after the World Cup is not a false hope. Let’s remember...

This is an intelligent and heartfelt satirical coverage of World Cup 2010 in South Africa. The question is how African is World Cup 2010 if all you can see everywhere is McDonalds, Coca-Cola or Budweiser?

I never thought that I would ever see the day when I read Facebook statuses of my friends and then see someone quoting Adolf Hitler. But it happened and it got worse. I didn’t see it once, but twice. It got even worse when I saw people liking that quote. This was the moment when I got very upset (blood boiling included) in disbelief. I’m not going to reiterate which Adolf...

Stack / Stuck
As I am writing this piece, I have a stack of clothes on my bed that I still have to put in my wardrobe, I have a stack of book that I want to read, I have codes to finish and I have a report to write. This shows how my state of being at this moment. A state of being that I am not proud of. I think if you at all cost will stick a label on it, then use the word “unorganized”. Yes,...
